I started my journey with writing as a teenager, reviewing the music and games I loved at the time on my extremely unprofessional (and bad) blog. I enjoyed this enough to hone my craft and pursue a future in journalism.
I attended the University of Central Lancashire (now University of Lancashire) and wrote for the university newspapers and a local gaming website while studying. I graduated as a Bachelor of Arts and wrote blogs and freelance pieces while job searching.
I then secured an entry-level role at Oxford University Hospitals and spent the next ten years working for the National Health Service in a variety of roles, culminating in my current post as Marketing and Communications Assistant at innovation catalyst TheHill. While working in the Trust I have written freelance pieces on the side and self-produced video, audio and written content about my hobbies, such as k-pop and games.
In my current role I have had oversight of the written output of TheHill and have controlled our tone of voice across our website, social media and print materials, as well as internally through the Trust intranet.
I have developed a wide skillset across writing, proofreading, video and audio production, on-screen hosting, social media scheduling, print design and web design. I am comfortable using the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Vegas Pro, Silktide, Streamlabs OBS, Content Studio and Hubspot among other software tools. Iām used to working to tight deadlines both as an individual and as part of a team, and I am able to work flexibly while maintaining a strong sense of organisation and time management.
